A while back I paid off my auto loan with Ally Bank but found out I had been charged late fees. After going through a divorce I ask Ally to change my due date to coincide with my pay dates. The "no-customer service" rep said it was a done deal so I continued to pay on the date I said I could pay. Well, now they are holding my title hostage saying I owe $900 in late charges. I offered to concede and pay $300 to settle but was told no. They countered with $570. How can they get away with holding my title hostage if the loan itself is paid off?
