I have been buying my morning coffee and sandwich at Dunkin Donuts for decades, most recently for the last 3 years at the store located at 2517 Tamiami Trail in Punta Gorda, Florida. About 2 months ago, I stopped going there due to wrong orders delivered to me. Today I decided to go back and see if anything had improved. I ordered a ham and egg on a plain bagel, NO CHEESE, NO BUTTER, NO DAIRY! Obviously, I am highly allergic to dairy products. The girl at the window repeated my order as she handed it to me and said, "Ham, egg and cheese on a plain bagel"! I said NO CHEESE and she said "OH YEA, no cheese".

I took my sandwich to work, opened it up and foolishly bit into it without looking, trusting that they can follow directions, especially when it is a food allergy issue… A very foolish assumption. I ended up with a mouthful of creme cheese! I have taken rides in the ambulance to the ER due to my allergy to dairy. I contacted, the apparent mgr and explained my history with them. Needs to go to school to learn how to deal with people/customers. She said very abruptly, "I'm sorry sir, would you like me to replace it"? How about, are you ok? How about, I'm so sorry, and actually being sincere? How about, what can we do to apologize and make it right?

Fortunately for me, I recognized before I swallowed the cheese what I had bitten into. I will NEVER go back to this Dunkin Donuts again and maybe to any other. The people who are hired are careless and unconcerned about anyone other than getting their order out. It is my understanding that they are on a clock and are timed in terms of how long it takes to complete an order… That itself is just wrong! I will pursue this issue further as I am tired of losing money and risking my health. A litigious individual, or one who had been made sick by this event, would be contacting an attorney right this minute. I've had it with Dunkin Donuts!!
