Submitting a claim used to be very good, but recently, it has been extremely bad. It takes them forever to get somebody out because they didn't have enough people who could come out in a timely fashion and provide the service. We had an electrical issue that took over a week before we could get somebody out. It wasn't even eligible for a claim because it ended up being something completely different. Then, we had a similar issue on my rental property where one of the outside faucets was leaking and somebody came out and did the repair. Then they went to my personal residence where we had a similar issue, and they said, "No, it wasn't covered".in the end, I don't know what's going to be covered and what's not. I'm thinking about trying to switch now because I'm really frustrated with the level of service that we're getting.
Last year, I wanted to replace a faucet in my kitchen and they said, "No, we're not going to replace that. We're just going to give you this cheap faucet" — I don't know what it was, it wasn't even what we had. I thought they were going to replace a like product. I'm wondering what's going to happen when something major like an AC or something big goes out, which is why I have First American. I would not recommend them. Even though nothing is repaired, I still have to pay the service fee. First American should at least waive the fee. They're not going to pay a claim.
