My new 2016 Ford Escape has a "shutter" in the transmission, which occurs every time when shifting from reverse into drive. Took into service 2 times only to be told "Ford is aware of this "issue" and is working on a solution. However they are not nor will not authorize any repairs on this vehicle." This auto was less than 90 days in my possession and has less than 1200 miles on odometer. No time frame was given for any resolution! Same response from Ford "Hot Line" Consumer affairs, as they advised me to "Come to a complete stop when backing. Then gently put into drive, and you won't feel it." So I am to change the way I have driven for 50 years to accommodate this new car! Not covered by "Lemon Law" in NC so I am screwed until they get enough cases to force a recall.
