I received a telephone call tonight from a woman in NY who stated she received a consolidation packet of MY HUSBAND at her house today. I also received a packet from Navient today and, lo and behold, I have her consolidation packet. Thanks to the incompetence of the Navient staff that handles this correspondence, this woman and I are now in possession of each other's SS#, DOB, name, address, and personal reference info. I called the Navient #888-272-5543 and spoke with "Avie" who gave me the #800-891-1391 for the Fraud Dept. When I called, it's a non-working number. I will be contacting news media and higher authorities who deal with identity theft to make them aware of this mistake.
