So I just bought this 08 Nissan Altima 3.5 SE and I bought it from this private small car dealership and as soon as I made the deal, 2 hours after buying the car, check engine light comes on and I can get the car to get into driving gear. I put it on drive but it doesn't do anything. It drives for a little bit and when I come to a red light it doesn't wanna go no more. Long story short so I took it to my mechanic and he told me I have a bad transmission. I am not the first owner of this car. I don't know how many people have owned this car before me. The car has 109,000 miles which my mechanic did some research and told me that some cars from Nissan that have a CVT transmission years from '06 to 2012 been having transmission problems and they been having a warranty on the transmission of those cars up to 120.000 miles.
Now I just contacted my local Nissan dealership and they told me that is true and to take my car to them to get check see if my car has a warranty on the transmission. Now my question is I know it has a bad transmission but will Nissan cover to put a new transmission. Pls let me know if you know anything. I would really appreciated since I am not the first owner of the car. I live in the state of Nebraska. I will keep an update as soon as I can when I get an answer from Nissan. Thanks.
