I've booked and paid for our December holidays in April 2016, 11 nights at a guest house located at 9 Apostle road, Llandudno, Cape Town, starting 27 Dec. On the morning of 24 Dec, Oliver the host cancelled the booking, leaving four of us stranded three days before we would've arrived. Since then I've tried to get my money out of Oliver and/or Airbnb, but they are simply not responding to my emails. It turned out that Oliver never cancelled the booking on the Airbnb system as I would've then been able to claim from them. He wanted me to cancel because then I would loose the full amount paid – R 11 733. Bad judgement from Airbnb to accept Oliver as a host, and Oliver the pinnacle of being cruel.
