I purchased a Samsung TV from Sears. Less than 15 months it went out completely. I did not purchase the 2 year warranty as I knew Samsung was a trustworthy company and I would not have a problem with the TV. After communicating them numerous times, they were of no help. I need a repairman they said and they would not take care of the bill. I bought a 50 inch TV and it was not cheap.
