I purchased my refrigerator four years ago from Lowe's. From the second year ice would form in the bottom of the freezer weekly. This past week it stopped working totally. I had to call a repairman. He advised me the parts he had to replace were outdated and Whirlpool had made changes to the my refrigerator model two years ago. No recall. Just cheap parts that caused the refrigerator to not defrost. $400 later all is well and I am broke. I wrote to Whirlpool and their response was, "Oh well, there was never a recall so you're SOL.
